Since my childhood, I never imagined that I would experience asthma again in my life. I consider myself to be very physically active and have not felt the force of having allergies. Suddenly we got a third roommate that happens to be a non-hypoallergenic dog, and after 16 years with no symptoms, I had a relapse of asthmatic attacks. I was fine outside of the house, but five minutes after walking in, the wheezing began and it lasted the entire time. Then I had pretty heavy coughing throughout the night to add to the experience. I didn’t get much sleep for 2 weeks straight because I thought I would probably die in my sleep. After suffering for 2 weeks without breathing much at night, I went to see Dr. Brody, at the COE. I am 26, and in my entire life, I have never been so well taken care of in any experience with any healthcare provider. I felt that I was in safe hands from the start of the intake. He answered every question I had about the physical examinations, and made sure I understood everything he was doing.  If I were to rate his bedside manners alone, I’d give him a 10/10. Dr. Brody makes sure you are comfortable, teaches you every step of the way, and more importantly, he listens. Following the intake and the physical examinations that he had suggested a few changes, which included my dietary intake, and even better, he explained every step in his care plan so that I knew what was causing me to react to powerfully, what to changes to make to reverse it, and why these changes had potency. Within 2 weeks of following his recommendations, I am happy to say that we still have a third roommate at the apartment, and I am able to play with him. I sometimes spend the entire day with the dog, and I have not had any asthmatic relapses in 4 months. I have not been taking any inhalers or asthma medication, and I still get to eat most of what I enjoy.  I literally only eat, and take a couple of recommended supplements, all of which he thoroughly explained why they were given, and I am as I have been for a decade and a half, asthma free.  I am grateful to experience the power of the simplicity and effectiveness of naturopathic medicine from an excellent physician. Dr. Brody’s bedside manners, with his knowledge, his ability to teach, and his effectiveness make him an excellent physician to see for pretty much anything.  I’ve been under the care of several physicians and have even worked with many, but none has been as caring and helpful as Dr. Brody. He genuinely cares and puts much effort to working with me to get to a solution to my suffering, and I know he extends the same effort to all patients. He has my gratitude for helping me take control of my life and of course, for making it possible to keep the dog!
