Well after a long day of travel, we finally made it to Guatemala and our home for the next 10 days. We actually had some problems with Guatemalan customs this year but we all made it out of the airport in one piece. Even if that was without some donations and a missing bag.
Today was our only free day so we took advantage of it. After catching up on some much needed sleep, we took a tour around the lake. It is always so nice to see different cultures. We bought art, ponchos, food and village hopped around the lake. After we came back to Pana we grabbed our bags and switched hotels. Hotel Jardines De Lago overlooks the lake and is a beautiful hotel. For dinner tonight we had a fancy feast of French food and wine.
Tomorrow starts our clinical rotations and we are all heading in early for some much needed sleep. It is so nice being here as a doctor. I am so grateful for everyone who makes NMGH a great world health organization. Tomorrow I am hoping to fill this news feed up with pictures and stories from my patients. First things first — sleep is needed. So good night and see you all tomorrow.
