Dr. Robert Brody’s education includes a doctorate degree in Naturo
pathic Medicine, a Masters of Science in Human Nutrition both from the University of Bridgeport. Dr. Brody is also board certified in naturopathic gastroenterology. To become a board-certified and a CT licensed Naturopathic Physician, he also completed a residency program at the Center of Excellence in Generative Medicine with Dr. D’Adamo and his fellowship from the Gastroenterology Association of Naturopathic Physicians.
Clinical Education
“A licensed naturopathic physician (ND) attends a four-year, in residency, graduate-level naturopathic medical school and is educated in all of the same basic sciences as an MD, but also studies holistic and nontoxic approaches to therapy with a strong emphasis on disease prevention and optimizing wellness.
In addition to a standard medical curriculum, the naturopathic physician also studies clinical nutrition, homeopathic medicine, botanical medicine, psychology, and counseling. A naturopathic physician takes rigorous professional board exams so that he or she may be licensed by a state or jurisdiction as a primary care general practice physician. Continued Education
As a licensed naturopathic physician in the state of Connecticut, Dr. Brody is required by law to take part in Continued Education, or CE, activities. CE activities are courses designed to further a naturopathic physician’s scope of knowledge and are offered or approved by the Association of Accredited Naturopathic Medical Colleges, regionally accredited institutes of higher learning, or local health departments.
Failure to maintain the proper amount of CEs per year can result in the loss of medical licensure.
