Dr. Brody’s Natural Approach to Lupus
Lupus, otherwise known as Systemic Lupus Erythematous (SLE), is an autoimmune disease where your body attacks itself. While it is currently unknown why this process occurs, there are natural treatments that can help.
SLE generally affects the skin, kidneys, heart, nerves, and muscles. It can leave you stricken with fatigue, rashes, weakness, painful/swollen joints, pain after taking a deep breath, fever, mouth sores, hair loss and possibly cold fingers and hands (Reynaud’s). With my approach to Lupus, I seek to understand why your body is attacking itself and take steps to prevent this. You do not want a full-blown SLE attack and should seek out natural treatment options. Did you know that low vitamin D levels in Lupus patients is very common and a low level can lead to poor health outcomes?
Lupus
While many Rheumatologists will prescribe medications that will help in the short term, my approach focuses on why an autoimmune disease developed in the first place. My main goal of treatment focuses on calming the immune system and to focus its attention on bad bacteria and unhealthy cells in your body and not healthy tissue. I work in conjunction with many Rheumatologists to properly manage, treat, and in some cases remove lupus symptoms.
